| Welcome To Rancho San Eric! |
Rancho San Eric is located about 80 miles south of Cancun on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Situated 6 miles south of the Tulum Ruins on the road to Punta Allen, it is on the edge of the Sian Ka'an biosphere reserve. It is beyond the electric grid, beyond telephone lines. Rancho San Eric is a small collection of individually-owned houses in a private-estate setting, located directly on the beach. Each house is unique and is elegant in a way that is simple and soft-spoken. The houses are available for rent when they are not being used by their owners. |
Once inside the secluded compound one enters the quiet and solitude of a private tropical park on a deserted caribbean beach. The garden setting is a wonderful refuge for the many birds of the area. Rancho San Eric is managed by the owners of one of the houses, Berta and Carlos Schober. |
Some of the houses are more elaborate than others. Each house has solar panels to provide electricity and there is hot water for the showers. Kitchens are equipped with propane stoves and refrigerators. Rancho San Eric is for the self-sufficient. Here, if you want to be pampered, you have to pamper yourselves! |
The beach in front of the compound is truly amazing fine white sand. Since Rancho San Eric is next to the Sian Ka'an reserve, there is minimal, low-impact, development to the north and virtually none to the south. You can walk for 10 miles south and not see another person. Mark Twain said it thus: If you are the kind of person who likes this sort of thing, then you are going to love this! |
